RESUS4KIDS instructors are healthcare professionals that care for acutely unwell children. Instructors either have an education portfolio as part of their job description or are recommended by their line manager as an appropriate instructor. To become a RESUS4KIDS instructor, instructors must have completed the RESUS4KIDS e-Learning and the short practical course with a RESUS4KIDS super trainer. Instructors then complete a 90 minute train the trainer session which covers the specific learning objectivise of RESUS4KIDS, education theory, Crisis Resource Management, how to manage challenging participants and resources available to instructors.
Instructors are supported by their local RESUS4KIDS educator, paediatric clinical nurse consultant or a local RESUS4KIDS super trainer.
To become a RESUS4KIDS super trainer, instructors must have taught at least 5 RESUS4KIDS short practical courses and attended a RESUS4KIDS super trainer workshop with a RESUS4KIDS chief trainer. RESUS4KIDS super trainers are then able to teach the RESUS4KIDS short practical course and the train the trainer course.
